Author Guideliness
GENERAL AUTHOR GUIDELINES
The manuscript should be submitted electronically through the journal's online submission system at https://e-journal.ibama.ac.id/index.php/el-lughoh/en/submissions. DAAR EL-LUGHOH: Journal of Arabic Language Education accepts original research articles and scholarly manuscripts relevant to the journal's focus and scope. Manuscripts may be written in Arabic or English and must be original, have not been previously published, and must not be simultaneously submitted or under consideration for publication in another journal. Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts comply with the journal's academic, ethical, and formatting requirements. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's guidelines may be returned to the authors for revision before proceeding to the peer-review process.
Manuscript Identity
Each submitted manuscript must contain a clear and informative title, the full name of all authors, institutional affiliation, corresponding author's email address, abstract, keywords, main text, and references. The title should accurately reflect the main topic and content of the manuscript and should be concise and specific. Author names should be written without academic degrees or professional titles. The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the editorial team throughout the submission, review, revision, and publication processes and must ensure that all authors have approved the submitted manuscript.
Manuscript Structure
For empirical research articles, the manuscript should generally consist of Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References. Authors may use appropriate subheadings within the Method and Results and Discussion sections when necessary to improve the organization and readability of the manuscript. The structure may be adjusted according to the research design and nature of the manuscript, provided that the essential academic components of the research are clearly presented.
Introduction
The Introduction should provide a clear and logical foundation for the research. It should explain the background and context of the study, identify the research problem or issue, present relevant previous studies, describe the theoretical or conceptual basis of the research, identify the research gap, and explain the novelty or contribution of the study. The introduction should conclude with a clear statement of the research objectives. Previous studies cited in the introduction should be relevant and sufficiently recent to establish the academic context of the research. The Introduction should be written as a coherent narrative without unnecessary subheadings.
Method
The Method section should clearly explain how the research was conducted so that the research process can be understood by other researchers. It should describe the research approach and design, research setting or context, participants or informants, population and sample where applicable, data sources, research instruments, data collection procedures and techniques, data analysis techniques, and relevant ethical considerations. In qualitative research, authors should clearly explain the selection of participants or informants, data collection procedures, and stages of data analysis. In quantitative research, authors should describe the population, sample, sampling technique, variables, research instruments, data collection procedures, and statistical analysis techniques as appropriate. The Method section should be presented in clear and coherent paragraph form and provide sufficient methodological information to demonstrate the rigor of the research.
Results and Discussion
The Results and Discussion section should present and interpret the findings of the research systematically and logically. The Results should report the main findings obtained through appropriate data collection techniques, such as interviews, observations, questionnaires, tests, surveys, documents, or other relevant methods. The findings should be presented clearly and directly in accordance with the research questions or objectives. Tables, figures, graphs, charts, or diagrams may be included when they contribute to the clarity of the findings, and each visual element should be appropriately numbered, titled, and referred to in the main text. The Discussion should provide an analytical interpretation of the findings rather than merely repeating the results. The findings should be connected with relevant theories, previous studies, and the broader context of Arabic language education. The discussion should explain similarities, differences, implications, and contributions of the findings to existing knowledge and should demonstrate the significance and contribution of the research to the field of Arabic language education.
Conclusion
The Conclusion should provide a concise synthesis of the main findings and discussion in relation to the research objectives. It should present the essential results and their implications in a brief, narrative, and conceptual manner rather than merely repeating information already presented in the Results and Discussion section. Authors may also briefly state the implications of the findings and suggestions for future research or educational practice when relevant. The Conclusion should be written in paragraph form and should not use bullet points or numbering.
References
All sources cited in the manuscript must be included in the reference list, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript. DAAR EL-LUGHOH: Journal of Arabic Language Education uses the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition citation and referencing style. Language and Writing Quality
Manuscripts may be written in Arabic or English and must use clear, accurate, and academically appropriate language. Arabic manuscripts should follow accepted academic Arabic writing conventions, including appropriate grammar, spelling, terminology, punctuation, and other relevant linguistic conventions. English manuscripts should use clear academic English with appropriate grammar, spelling, terminology, and sentence structure. Authors are responsible for carefully proofreading their manuscripts before submission to ensure linguistic accuracy, clarity, coherence, and readability.
Originality and Plagiarism
Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not contain plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, or other forms of academic misconduct. Authors must properly acknowledge and cite all sources, ideas, quotations, data, figures, and other intellectual contributions obtained from other works. The editorial team may use plagiarism-detection software to examine submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts that are found to contain substantial plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Authors may use artificial intelligence and other digital tools as supporting instruments for activities such as language improvement, proofreading, translation assistance, data processing, or other appropriate research-support activities. However, artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors, and their use does not transfer responsibility for the manuscript to the technology provider. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, citations, interpretation, and ethical compliance of the submitted manuscript. When generative AI has materially contributed to the preparation or development of the manuscript, authors should transparently disclose its use in accordance with the journal's applicable policy.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should be included only when they provide meaningful support for the presentation or interpretation of research findings. Each table and figure should have a clear and descriptive title, be numbered consecutively, and be referred to appropriately in the main text. Tables and figures must be presented clearly and legibly and should include an appropriate source or acknowledgment when necessary. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce or adapt copyrighted materials from other sources whenever such permission is required.
